Upholstery is where allergens accumulate quietly. Dust mites live in mattresses and fabric headboards in numbers people would rather not think about, and dining chairs collect years of food without ever being properly washed.
What counts as upholstery
Dining and desk chairs, armchairs and recliners, fabric headboards, ottomans and blanket boxes, footstools, window seats, bar stools, mattresses, and car and van interiors. If it's fabric, stuffed, and you sit or sleep on it, we clean it.
Mattress cleaning and allergens
A mattress collects roughly half a litre of moisture a night and feeds a dust mite population that peaks after about three years. We use a low-moisture extraction with an anti-allergen treatment, and the mattress is usable the same evening. Double from £45, king from £55.
Worth doing annually if anyone in the house has asthma, eczema or hay fever.
Dining chairs and food stains
Priced per chair, cheaper in sets of four or more. Curry, red wine and grease are the usual suspects, and all three respond well when treated before they've been through a hot wash or scrubbed at with washing-up liquid — which sets most of them permanently.
Car interiors
Seats, carpets, mats, door cards and boot lining, cleaned and deodorised. Full interior from £65, single seat from £25. Popular before selling a car, and before returning a lease vehicle where valeting charges run into hundreds.
Upholstery Cleaning your questions
Can't see yours? Ring us — we'd rather answer it before you book than after.
How much does upholstery cleaning cost?
£35 per item as standard, with better rates on sets — six dining chairs comes to less than six individual bookings. Mattresses from £45, car interiors from £65. £60 minimum per visit.
Is it safe for antique or delicate furniture?
We test first and use dry-side or low-moisture methods on anything fragile. For genuine antiques with unstable dyes or vulnerable frames we'll say so rather than take the risk.
Do you clean mattresses for allergies?
Yes. Anti-allergen mattress treatment is one of our most requested services, particularly for children's rooms. It reduces dust mite allergen and removes the moisture and skin cells they feed on.
How long does upholstery take to dry?
Two to four hours for most items. Mattresses are usually sleepable the same night if we come in the morning.
While we're there
Adding a second service to the same visit is almost always cheaper than booking twice.
